Inhibits DPP-4, increasing incretins. Reversible activity (unlike sitagliptin).
Reversibly blocks DPP-4, increasing GLP-1 and GIP. Reversible binding allows residual activity even at low drug levels.

Hydrolytically metabolised by peptidase in erythrocytes (inactive Ba41-795L metabolite). Does not interfere with CYP.
